Project's Objectives
Objectives of the Project
The AgriVETourism project is guided by a set of three interconnected objectives that reflect its vision of transforming rural development through education, innovation, and sustainability. Together, these objectives respond directly to the evolving needs of rural communities and align with wider European priorities for green growth and inclusive learning.
The first objective is the development and delivery of a tailored vocational education and training (VET) programme in sustainable agritourism. By bringing together the fields of agriculture and tourism, this programme is designed to prepare learners to establish and manage rural enterprises that are both eco-friendly and economically viable. It emphasizes practical skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and respect for natural and cultural heritage, ensuring that participants are equipped to succeed in a competitive and sustainability-driven market.
The second objective focuses on increasing the flexibility and accessibility of vocational education opportunities. The project addresses the reality that many adults in rural areas face barriers to training, such as limited time, prior educational background, or geographical constraints. By designing a modular and learner-centred programme, AgriVETourism creates an inclusive learning pathway that adapts to different needs, enabling working-age adults to acquire new competencies without disrupting their professional or personal responsibilities.
The third objective is to equip rural communities with the sustainable skills needed to foster resilience and climate action. Beyond individual training, the project promotes environmentally responsible practices that contribute to the protection of ecosystems, the reduction of carbon footprints, and the preservation of local biodiversity. At the same time, it strengthens the economic resilience of rural regions, particularly in areas where traditional farming alone can no longer secure livelihoods.
Taken together, these objectives embody the project’s holistic approach: building individual capacities, closing skill gaps, and creating long-term opportunities for sustainable growth. By linking education with practice, AgriVETourism not only empowers people but also lays the groundwork for rural communities to thrive in a greener, more resilient future.
