Project's Activities
Project Activities and Implementation
To achieve its objectives, AgriVETourism follows a structured plan of activities designed to ensure both educational impact and long-term sustainability for rural communities. Each step of the project has been carefully conceived to translate vision into practice and to deliver tangible benefits for learners, agritourism operators, and the wider local economy.
A cornerstone of the initiative is the design of a specialised VET curriculum, developed through an in-depth analysis of local needs and existing skill gaps in the rural agritourism sector. This curriculum is learner-centred, innovative, and engaging, aiming to equip participants with the exact competencies required to thrive in sustainable agritourism.
Complementing the curriculum, the project focuses on the development of high-quality training materials. These resources cover a broad spectrum of essential areas, including sustainable farming practices, eco-tourism development, hospitality management, and business planning. Together, they provide a comprehensive toolkit for participants, supporting both their professional growth and entrepreneurial aspirations.
A key dimension of AgriVETourism is capacity building. Through hands-on training, learners and agritourism operators engage in a blend of theory, practice, and collaborative exercises. This experiential approach not only reinforces technical knowledge but also fosters innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, all of which are crucial for creating resilient and future-ready rural businesses.
The project also emphasises international cooperation and knowledge exchange. A series of transnational partner meetings ensures strong coordination and shared responsibility: a kick-off meeting in Bulgaria sets the foundations, a training session in Italy enriches the learning process with practical insights, and a final meeting in Greece consolidates results and fosters long-term collaboration among partners.
Finally, the project gives significant attention to dissemination and outreach. Through local multiplier events, a dedicated project website, newsletters, and targeted communication materials, AgriVETourism raises awareness of its mission and shares its results widely. Stakeholders, policymakers, and local communities are actively engaged, ensuring that the project’s benefits extend beyond direct participants and contribute to the broader European dialogue on sustainable rural development.
Taken together, these activities embody the project’s commitment to linking education with practice. They create real opportunities for individuals and enterprises while simultaneously enhancing the resilience, attractiveness, and sustainability of rural areas across Europe.
